On Friday 11th July, 2025, Sam Precious Metals was honored to welcome H.E. Luis Miguel Merlano Hoyos, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the UAE, for an official visit to our refinery in Dubai – marking a key moment in the evolving trade relationship between our two nations.
On April 19th, 2024, Colombia signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE, its most important trading partner in the Middle East. A year later, both countries continue to build on shared ambitions to enhance trade, improve market access, and foster cooperation in sectors ranging from renewable energy, elimination of customs tariffs on a wide range of goods, and infrastructure to sustainable mining.
As one of the most reputable refineries, globally, Sam was selected for this visit in recognition of our technical capabilities, robust management systems, and deep understanding of how local brands can succeed on the global stage.
These strengths uniquely position us to support the long-term goals of the CEPA framework – not only in precious metals trade, but also in cross-regional knowledge exchange and engineering collaboration.

Le vendredi 11 juillet 2025, Sam Precious Metals a eu l’honneur d’accueillir S.E. Luis Miguel Merlano Hoyos, Ambassadeur de la République de Colombie aux Émirats arabes unis, pour une visite officielle de notre raffinerie à Dubaï – marquant une étape importante dans l’évolution des relations commerciales entre nos deux pays.
Le 19 avril 2024, la Colombie a signée un Accord de Partenariat Économique Global (CEPA) avec les Émirats arabes unis, son principal partenaire commercial au Moyen-Orient. Un an plus tard, les deux nations poursuivent leurs efforts pour renforcer le commerce, améliorer l’accès au marché et encourager la coopération dans des secteurs tels que les énergies renouvelables, la suppression des droits de douane sur une large gamme de produits, les infrastructures et l’exploitation minière durable.
En tant que l’une des raffineries les plus réputées au monde, Sam a été choisie pour cette visite en reconnaissance de ses capacités techniques, de ses systèmes de gestion solides et de sa compréhension approfondie de la réussite des marques locales sur la scène mondiale. Ces atouts nous permettent de soutenir les objectifs à long terme du CEPA – non seulement dans le commerce des métaux précieux, mais aussi dans le partage des connaissances interrégional et la collaboration en ingénierie.
